Hello! My name is Monica Chen and I am the owner of Piano by Monica. Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a teacher. I never imagined I would own my own business teaching piano and voice, but it has been one of the greatest adventures.
I grew up taking piano and voice lessons and have been in choirs, on worship teams, and in musicals. I was born in North Carolina and grew up in Arizona. After high school, I moved to Colorado where I studied music at Colorado Christian University and graduated with a B.A. in Music.
In July of 2015, I started Piano by Monica in the Denver area. In just three short years, my studio grew to full capacity. Desiring to live in a small town, I moved my business to Pinedale, WY in February 2019. I am loving the small town life and all the wonderful children I have the privilege to teach.
Along with running a business, teaching, and planning recitals, I enjoy adventuring in the great outdoors. Hiking, climbing, fly fishing, and exploring new places has become one of my favorite pastimes. I love cooking and baking as well as checking out coffee shops and bookstores wherever this adventurous life takes me.
I hope to one day be able to pass on what I have learned in growing Piano by Monday to help other musicians run a successful studio.
